I am a woman, a wife, a mother, a grandmother. Until two years ago I was a teacher, but then after 30 years of teaching, I retired. Retirement is wonderful!
My name is Carol, but when I was a little girl my mother came up with the nickname "Cabbie." She said she didn't want to use "Carrie" as a nickname since that was more common. I have warm memories of both my mother and father calling me "Cabbie" - and even today my mother and some of my siblings still call me Cabbie occasionally.
If I had it to do over again, I'd get my grandkids to call me Cabbie instead of Grandma Carol.
I've always loved cooking, and since I retired I've been taking cooking classes. Nothing fancy but basic classes offered at the Viking Cooking School. I've taken Viking University 1 and 2, and Viking University Masters. I've taken classes in Italian cooking, French cooking, Thai cooking, pasta making, pizza making and lots of others. I enjoy learning more about food and how to prepare it well.
